01Who we are
Square Space Webs Builder is a design and development studio operating at squarespacewebsbuilder.com. For the purposes of data protection law we are the data controller for the information described in this policy.
If you have any question about this policy, or want to exercise any of the rights described below, email info@squarespacewebsbuilder.com or call +1 (920) 260-0395.
02What we collect
We collect only what we need in order to reply to you and deliver work you have asked for:
- Contact details you give us, name, email address, phone number and company name, submitted through our enquiry form or by email.
- Project information, anything you tell us about your business, goals or requirements so we can quote and deliver the work.
- Client account data, for active projects, the credentials and access we need to build and maintain your site. These are held in a password manager, never in plain text.
- Usage data, anonymous, aggregated analytics about how visitors move through this website (pages viewed, approximate region, device type, referring site).
03What we do not collect
We do not collect payment card details through this website. Invoices are settled through a third-party payment processor that handles card data directly; we never see or store your full card number.
We do not buy contact lists, and we do not add you to a mailing list because you sent an enquiry. Marketing email is opt-in only.
04Why we process it
Each type of processing has a lawful basis:
- To respond to your enquiry and provide a quote, because you asked us to, as a step towards entering a contract.
- To deliver and support a project, to perform our contract with you.
- To keep financial records, to meet our legal obligations around accounting and tax.
- To improve this website, our legitimate interest in understanding which pages are useful, using analytics that do not identify you individually.
05Cookies and analytics
This site uses a small number of cookies. Essential cookies keep the site working and cannot be turned off. Analytics cookies, if you consent to them, tell us anonymously which pages are read and where visitors arrive from.
You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking analytics cookies does not affect how the site works for you.
06Who we share it with
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us operate, and only to the extent they need it:
- Our website host and email provider, to deliver this site and our correspondence.
- Squarespace, where we build and maintain your website on your own account.
- Our accountant and payment processor, for invoicing and financial records.
- Law enforcement or regulators, where we are legally required to do so.
07How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become projects are deleted after 24 months. Project records and correspondence are kept for the duration of our engagement and for six years afterwards, which is the period we are required to retain financial records. Analytics data is retained in aggregate only.
08How we protect it
Access to client data is limited to the people working on your project. Credentials are held in an encrypted password manager with two-factor authentication enforced. Our site and email are served over TLS, and devices are encrypted at rest.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach ever affected your personal data in a way likely to cause you risk, we would tell you and the relevant regulator without undue delay.
09Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have some or all of the following rights over your personal data:
- Ask for a copy of what we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct anything inaccurate.
- Ask us to delete it, where we have no ongoing legal or contractual need to keep it.
- Ask us to restrict or object to how we use it.
- Ask for your data in a portable, machine-readable format.
- Withdraw consent at any time, where consent was the basis for processing.
To exercise any of these, email info@squarespacewebsbuilder.com. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response you may complain to your local data protection authority.
10Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal data we will update this page and revise the date at the top. Material changes affecting existing clients will also be sent by email.
